AUCTIVA, CUSTOM TEMPLATE PLACEMENT
INSTRUCTIONS AND HELP GUIDE.
My Templates are easy to
use just copy and paste no HTML knowledge
necessary. Both AUCTIVA and TURBO
LISTER are the easiest way to list, edit templates, store
images rather than listing directly into Ebay Sell your Item
page. My instruction guide covers
how to insert your template in Auctiva, Turbo Lister and in
Ebay sell your item. I have placed my instruction guides in order of my
preference for ease and features which each
offer.
The
following is a guide for placement of custom Auction
Templates and images into Auctiva
lister.

If you are a
new user of Auctiva you will need to log in to your account
and do the following:
Auctiva does
not have your eBay username or password, so in order for
eBay to recognize you through their system, eBay must
generate a token for you. A token is like a key just for
your account so Auctiva and eBay can communicate about your
account without using your username or password. If you
don't generate an eBay token, you cannot use 95% of
Auctiva's program, including the Auctiva Scrolling
Gallery.
To generate your eBay token:
Click on the My Account
tab
Click on the eBay
Settings link
Click on the Get New Token link
When you click a "Generate eBay Token" button,
you are redirected to the eBay sign-in screen. eBay requests
that you specifically agree to let them share necessary
information from your eBay account with Auctiva Corporation
for Auctiva functions. When you click on "Agree and
Continue," eBay assigns the token
and you are switched back to the Auctiva screen with your
eBay identity linked.

be emailed to you in a zipped folder
attachment.~~
Open zipped folder you will see a
TEMPLATE listing page . This is your html code for your
template
and separate instruction
guide.
Recommend that you save a copy of your
template
.
1. Open your
template code (should open in Notepad) and you should see a
lot of unusual script (if you have not seen htlm before this
is what it looks like).
2. In browser
click on edit, select all, copy (this copies the template
code to your clipboard.
3. Log into
your Auctiva account or create one from the above
link.
4. Click on
the listing tab and scroll down to heading CUSTOM TEMPLATES
and under CUSTOM TEMPLATES click on Create New.
5. In the new
browser Window above the blank page write a title for your
template.
6. Left click
cursor on top left side of blank page and then right click
and paste. You should now see your HTML code.
7. Left click
"standard" above and you should now see your template
image.
8. On the left
side of page you will see a heading
"CUSTOM TEMPLATE TAGS".
9. Place your
cursor where you want your TITLE to appear within your
listings and left click on that space, then go over to the
TITLE TAG and click on it. You should see the title tag
appear in the position you chose for it .
10. Run cursor through text (TITLE) and
now customise what color, font and size you would like
your title text to be using the edit tools above. When
you eventually write your item title and decription etc it
will automatically insert the way you have set it up re
colors, font, size and insert area.
11. You can either type your
shipping details into the template and customise the text
color and size from the tools above or if you have set up
your profiles or intend to you can left click your cursor
and tag where your shipping details are going to be
inserted and then under the CUSTOM TAG header click on
shipping. A shipping tag will be inserted where you
have marked your cursor. Follow the above steps regarding
customising your text, color and font for your shipping
details.
12 Either type in your payment details
or left click where your Payment instructions are to be
inserted from your profile and repeat step 10 for
customising.
13. Repeat the
same steps for Terms of Sale.
14. Left click and centre your cursor
on the bottom of your template (usually under the Terms box)
then under CUSTOM TAG header left click on Scrolling
Gallery. This inserts Auctiva's scrolling gallery
images of your sale items in your listings on
Ebay.

ITEM DESCRIPTION FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW
15. Left click in the area you want your
description to start (this would usually be in the
description field in the template) Under CUSTOM TAG Header
either left click Description (do NOT click on
description and images as this will place your images in the
description field and NOT in your image box). Follow
step 10 to customise.
16. Under description in the CUSTOM TAG
column you will see image 1 etc. If you only intend to
place one image in your template left click cursor in the
image box and then left click on image one. This tags
where your image will be placed.
17. If you want to place more than one
image into your template left click cursor again in image
box under image one and left click image two. You can
place as many images as you want here. Even if you are
only inserting one image in some listings and up to six in
other click and insert up to image 6. This will tag
your image insertions even if you are not inserting 6 images
into every listing.
18. On the
bottom of the CUSTOM TAG Header column you can choose your
image option. I recommend that 400px x 300px is chosen
(usually this is set and you don't need to change it).
Auctiva will automatically resize your images to 400px x
300px so that they appear uniform in your listing.
19. Under your template click on
save and preview tab. Preview your template and
if you need to make any changes close window and re-edit and
save.
20. This completes the set-up of your
template. You need never do this again unless you
want to edit your setting tags.
21. For new Auctiva users click on the
image tab and upload and organise your selling item
images. Check out all the features Auctiva offers.
Disable image borders if you are using the image frame in
the template (Auctiva sets an image border by default so you
will need to disable). Click on enabled under IMAGE
SETTINGS. In new browser window fill out to set up all your
account preferences. Under image management disable
image border.
22. Click on the Profile tab
and click through all the profiles and fill out all that you
need. In Seller details you can write in your payment
preferences, shipping details, terms etc. and save.
You can create different sellers details for different items
and save them.
23. To create
a listing using your template click on listing tab Click on
new listing or if you have created a master profile select
the profile you want.
24. In the create an Ebay item listing
window complete all relevant details. Type out your item
description. NOTE: If you have followed
steps 10 & 15 you do not have to customise
with the tools for color, text and size as they have been
pre-set in the template.
25. Choose the
image or images you want in your template.
26. Under your start price etc you will
see an image that says "Select Template" Left click on
image. In new browser window under select template scroll
through and select Custom. A thumbnail will appear
with your saved custom template. Select your named
template. Your template will appear in the
window. To the left click save template to listing.
27. Continue and complete your
listing. If you have set payment and shipping profiles
select the appropriate profile for your
listing.
You
can preview how your listing will appear on Ebay by clicking
on preview.

29. Don't forget that a Auctiva store
is created for you and you can click on the store tab to
customise your store. Auctiva provides a link in
all your listings to the Auctiva Store along with a
scrolling gallery of your items.
