TURBO LISTER INSTRUCTION GUIDE FOR INSERTING
AND USING TEMPLATES
"Did you know you can use Turbo Lister to store
your hosted images and use the program as a html editor? "
NOTE YOU MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE
INTERNET WHEN USING TURBO LISTER OR YOUR TEMPLATE IMAGES WONT
DISPLAY
1.Open your
listing page (in notepad) and you should see a lot of unusual script
(if you have not seen htlm before this is what it looks like).
2. Go to edit and
click "Select All" which should highlight all the script.
3. Go
to edit again and click copy.
4. Now open Turbo Lister and carry out all
necessary steps to get to item description. TIP you can make
up mock listings (i.e. listings that are not going to be uploaded to
Ebay) and you can call them anything you like and save them and
duplicate them. All you need do is write anything in the item
description, pick any categorie, auction fixed price or store item
etc selling price and postage. You have to do this or you
can't get into the description Builder view. I will give you
another tip further on on how you can store your images in Turbo
Lister and just copy and paste them easily into templates without
using url codes.
5. Open description builder and click
on HTML view.
6. Right click and paste
your template code (you should see the script code in the window).
7. Click back
to Design View mode and you should now see your template
which is know ready for you to write your description and other
details in. DO NOT delete the text that you see in the
image box as this text acts as a guide in the placement of your
images which is explained at step 10. You will also notice
that I have left a text to show you where to start your
descriptions. Don't delete my text before you make your own
notations if you want to keep the same text font and colour. Of
course you can choose your own text fonts and colours if you choose
in the same manner as usual. TIP don't write your item
description at this stage instead save document and exit editing
mode. Click on document in Turbo Lister files and click
duplicate (top left hand corner). You can duplicate several
copies and they are ready for use at a later date. You can
also provide a file in Turbo Lister and keep your templates there.
NOTE: Some images within
templates will not show in design view e.g. flash banners and some
animation but can be seen in Preview window. All text and
image editing is carried out in design view.
8. Open template
document and you can now start playing with your new template.
IMAGE PLACEMENT GUIDE
You can place
unlimited images of your sales items in all my templates.
Usually unless requested templates are delivered with one image box
(if you would like me to add more before delivery just let me
know). Unlimited images can be placed in the one box and will
display under each other down the page. If you want individual
boxes for each item just click on image box in Design
view to highlight box (corners of image box will display with little
squares) right click copy and then under image box click
cursor where you would like to place the second image box and
right click paste and a new image box should display.
Please note that the image boxes will centre on the
page.
9 . To place an image/s into your template you must
have an image host who will host your images for you. Free
image hosting is available at photobucket and there are others if
you can't host your own or you can subscribe to Ebay's picture
manager. Just upload and store your images with your image
host. Please see Auctiva Listing Guide as you can also copy
and paste your prepared listing into Auctiva and use Auctiva as you
image host and image insertion.
If NOT using Auctiva features follow the
directions below for image insertion .
PHOTO
BUCKET
:- There are several ways to insert
images into my templates from photobucket (or any other image
host).
1. Upload all
your images to your image host. Make sure you have edited
image size before uploading. Suggested image sizes including
your gallery image is 400px width.
2. From your
image host select your images and copy the direct Link to your
clipboard.
Option 1. (This is
the easiest) follow step 2 and in design view in Turbo Lister under
Other Tasks (situated left hand side) click on change photo
hosting select your own web hosting and "The item will have a
picture inserted into description" box then click okay a green
camera image will appear next to inserts on top of page.
NOTE
if you have inserted your
free Gallery image from your own picture file it will
dissappear but you can re-insert it later). Paste
your
Direct url link you have
copied (situated under your image) starting
with http....... etc.
(Note
if you copy the wrong url your image will not appear and all you
will see is a red cross where image should
be.) Open your template in design view and
delete any text written in the image box (image box will diminish in
size) place cursor in the middle of box and then click on little
green camera (right hand side of inserts ) and a window will appear
on the top left hand side of page and paste your image url in where
shown. Then click insert. Your image should appear
where you marked your cursor. You can only insert one
image at a time using this system and if you want mutliple images
inserted it may be easier to use option 2. Gallery images are
inserted in the same manner however if you want to add a Gallery
image from your computer image file click on "Change photo hosting
and restore to Ebay picture hosting after you have inserted all your
hosted images.
Option
2. Select the image or images urls/s you want to insert
from your image host. Copy htlm TAG (<IMG
Src=...............etc) or click bottom of page to generate multiple
image codes and paste the urls into the template in htlm
view as shown below at instruction 10.
10. After you have clicked copy of your image
urls from your photo host open your template in HTLM View.
Scroll through the HTLM text until you see the following:
<!.....................................................................><DELETE
THIS TEXT AND REPLACE WITH YOUR IMAGE/S URL/S BETWEEN
QUOTES><!................................................................
I have left this text easy to find by writing
in capitals and with the dotted lines as a guide.
11. Delete carefully the following
text saying<
DELETE THIS
TEXT AND REPLACE WITH YOUR IMAGE/S> and paste
your image url/s between the <> quotes.
NOTE it is important that the image url/s are
pasted correctly between the quotes or your images will not
display. If placed correctly it
will appear as example below:
<!...............................................................><IMG
src= " <"http://i110.photobucket.your"
<
font
>
><!...................................................>
12.
Click onto Design View. If you have pasted your image/s
correctly you will see them in the template and they should be
displayed in the image box. If your image disdplays but is not
within the image frame just left click on the image copy and paste
it into the image box. Go back and left click unwanted copy
and delete. If you see a red x where your image should be you
have not pasted correctly. If this is the case just click
cancel and then edit again and your template will restore to it's
previous state then redo your pasting.
IMAGE TIPS FOR STORING IMAGES
IN TURBO LISTER
TIP You can use Turbo Lister as your
image file and store your images there. To do this make up a
mock copy as described in section 4. In Design view on
the blank description page write a heading (e.g. My Pictures)
Now copy and paste <IMG Src=your image>url/s and in htlm
view paste your image/s url/s from your clipboard. Your
images will appear in design view. How great is that now you
are storing your images with easy viewing and accessing without
going into your image hosts site to get the urls (remember you must
be connected to the internet to view your images and
template). You can now save this as a file in Turbo
Lister. When you want an image which you have stored in Turbo
Lister just open it in design view and left click on the image you
want (highlight corners of image) then right click copy then go
to your listing and in design view place cursor where you want it
and paste it in.
This is
a quick and easy way to work with your images and their placement in
your template without the need to open photobucket or other image
host . Try not to
store too
many images on one page
as it
can take
time downloading.

Even
though you can't upload your about me pages, custom pages, Store
Headers and full Shopfronts from Turbo Lister you can use Turbo
Lister as a htlm editor and store them in a file there. Just
copy the htlm code of the template and paste it in Turbo Listers
htlm view and you can view and edit all of these templates and
in fact just about any htlm coded template.
To put
them into Ebay after editing just copy the htlm code and paste it in
the appropriate htlm description area (i.e. about me page, custom
page,
etc) in
Ebay.
